TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENTS AND IMPACTS TO THE SOCIETY

Technology is the application of scientific knowledge which is especially done as practicals. Advanced technology therefore means a technology which is not yet used by many people or rather immature.

In the year 1977,there was an enactment of the Science and Technology Act Cap 250 of the laws. Since then, there has been different ways of making technology the best way to do things in Kenya. The advanced technology introduced in the country has brought about many effects:positive and negative. For instance the advanced technology has made Kenya become the leading technology and innovation hub in Africa as a continent. This is because of the development of a large scale telecommunications infrastructure capable of delivering  communication in an efficient manner in Kenya. With the introduction of the advanced technology, there has been an easy way of making communication easy and more simpler. The use of telephones or rather cell phones to pass a message(s) to a larger group of people has been made possible by the use of technology. Before the introduction of technology for information, be it how urgent or crucial it could be, it would take almost a week or so to reach the other people for example death announcements to reach the deceased relatives.

In the transport industry, the introduction of advanced technology has also brought a lot of change. Technology has made transport easier by the invention of the aeroplane made made scientific inventions which was first done by the Wright brothers(Orvile and Wilbur). With this invention, transportation of perishable goods and even people for long distance or places that have bad roads or other things of such kind easy. Imagine an aeroplane flying from a point A to another point B so many kilometres away in less than an hour. Apart from the aeroplane are vehicles. Before technology people used to traveling for long distances either on donkeys or other domestic animals or on waters using boats. This isn't the case now since the invention of motors which can not only travel for longer distance but also transport fairly larger group of people. Another invention in the transport sector is the invention of ships. The advanced technology has helped the transportation of liquid-like goods easier by the use of ships. This has boosted the business sector hence earning the country tax.

In the education sector in Kenya, the advanced technology has made it easier for learning progress in different learning institutions in the country. Students can now use different equipments made using scientific skills to learn. Computer education has become a subject and even a course in different learning institutions. It has even reduced the load of working in offices as computers only require feeding up of information not like the manual way.

Advanced technology has also brought a lot of changes in the health sector. In today's times one can survive when put on life saving machines. This has been made possible by different inventions made by technology. Life span has been increased by the use of technology. 

Yes advanced technology is good but it has also brought about many effects. There has been inventions of very poisonous chemicals which affects the air and different organisms on the land and in waters. With the invention of technology many people have lost their jobs in various sectors because machines have taken the bigger part which would have been done manually thus rendering a bigger percentage of people poor. The invention of technology has made it possible the massive killings of innocent people by terrorists using bomb. This has reduced the number of people in the country.

In conclusion, people should never rely on the advanced technology and therefore should sometimes deal with the traditional ways - before inventions were made.
